How do people feel about .org domain names. are there any value to them. I own some pretty good .org domain and just recently picked up scubadives.org for 9 bucks from godaddy.

They are okay. Nowadays because of search engines and bookmarks, it doesn't matter what TLD you use.

A friend of mine has a website he opened for a college club and he is using .org because it sounds more like an organization (of course he also owns .com and .net). So, it also depends on the nature of your website. I doubt that TLD makes and difference SE vise...

I guess it would vary on how you market them and if you plan to sell them. There are so any extensions now its incredible. You can play with so many variations just about anything will sound cool or great.

To me the hot names appear to be any LLLL.com's and .info's

You should see how much some of the .infos are selling over at NPs. Some sell for $100 and upwards. I even had one and was able to sell it for $40.

But congrats on the name. I would say it is a pretty good find on a great name.

    It seems that it's a little off-topic :)

Personally I don't like .info domains. Most of them (not ALL) are crap IMO .
I prefer .com domains and 90% of my domains are .com's at present.

I've always thought of .org as being something official or special so I would consider them good. :)

What about the .info sites? I have one and don't know if it would be good to develop or not.

    well they are okay,
i prefer com 1st, that is very normal,
.org are more over for organisations, colleges, schools,
.net is okay, i wont buy .org in general since there will be issue while sale of the domain/website
but yes if the domain keywords are good i mite give a go at it
one word domains, good keyword domains are worth always.
