Hi Guys, I have noticed when I look at people's order pages that their Hop ID initially appears, but then the page immediately refreshes to "Affiliate = [none] What the hell is this? I've seen it twice now, and I'm hoping that it's not happening to my ID's as well. Thanks, Moniez
Are you saying that the affiliate links does not work?Or there is some problem with them? Thanks, Baster
I'm saying that when you click through to the product order page, their affiliate ID is present at the bottom. That is, "Affiliate = "XXXXXX" " Then, after about a second, the page refreshes and to "Affiliate = [None]"
i m using some script for affiliate link and the people go to the order page undermy domain name (where i put my aff link) when they are on ordepage the script make auto refresh and showing clickbank url same as ur refresh but i did never see that i think you are wrong onlinemoniez or something wrong with the product website
I'm not sure exactly what you're saying, but I have a Camtastia video of it. When I click the "Order Now" button I'm taken to the CB order page, where an affiliate ID appears at the bottom, as is normal. Then, however, it aut0-refreshes to "Affiliate=none" Are you saying that you do this with your script? If so, for what reasons exactly? Aff=none isn't going to increase your gravity, will it?
Im saying : the refresh doesnt effect your affiliateID i m using url cloaking and it make auto refresh on orderpage but it still shows AffiliateID there nothing wrong with refresh on orderpage but there is something wrong your product website ask them or change the product (and contact with clickbank about that) maybe they are using some script to get %100 sales
Ah, Okay. So despite your refresh the AffiliateID STILL SHOWS UP. This page is refreshing and the Affiliate ID is going to "NONE." So, yes, it appears they are running some script to get 100% of sales. Will be contacting CB.
I don't think it wise at this point to say any names. That is, until we know 100% that this is occurring, and that it is occurring intentionally. I'll let CB investigate. I have Camtasia footage that I'll forward to them. I'll keep you all posted.
Lesson Learn from others mistakes - Always check on your links when you are promoting. A good rule of thumb is to check your links atleast once a month. Not only to make sure it's still linked to you, but also to make sure the product is still there. ( I have had it happen that the Clickbank product was no long with them.)
Are you by any chance using Hughes Satellite for your ISP? When I test ClickBank links from home, that usually happens to me. When I test the same links from a friends house, the links are ok. This is due to the satellite connection, particularly for https.
Make sure you have your ducks in a row first and ask nicely so they can test it and see if you are in fact being cheated or if there is another reason. Many Browsers, plugins, settings, and security software can mess with affiliate links.
Exactly what I was thinking, reading the thread. What sort of anti-spyware software do you have running on your PC? It would also be well worth your while giving a couple of your friends your affiliate-link and asking them to test the same thing out for you (without actually buying, of course). You might well learn something this way. Just a suggestion.
Am I wrong or is this what is known as cookie stuffing. When the vendor sets cookie to affiliate=none or affiliate=theirotherlink so they get 100% commissions. Or is cookie stuffing something else? Mike
