Here is my site: http://www.afkay.com And here are the forums: http://forums.afkay.com I choose the color scheme as a way to differentiate myself from other sites. I wanted people to associate orange with my site, instead of having a generic black, blue, or white color scheme that a lot of gaming sites have. However, now that I am looking at it, I get the feeling that this unique color scheme may not work that well for a gaming website. I did want to set myself apart from other gaming websites, but I am now getting the feeling that it might be a bit TOO radical. My members seem to enjoy the look of the site, but I would like to hear some input from DP.
The orange/blur colorscheme is quite common actually However, your logo is really bold, it'll most likely be what people remember on your site.
Yea, I've seen a few Orange/Blue themes here and there. I just realized recently that its also the Mozilla color scheme. Totally, on accident, ripped off of them. And, when you say people will remember it, do you mean in a good way?
Well.. your site will leave an impression on the visitor (content and such) orange/blue is common, not only for mozilla but various other sites as well..
Ah ok. Thanks for the input 8. You probably don't know me, but you posted in most of my topics and are always helpful.
Thanks, but I'm not really looking to change the color scheme (if possible). I just want to know if it is good to have this color scheme for a gaming website. Most gaming websites I have seen use darker colors (Which is part of my reasoning for choosing the orange/blue).
Blue and orange work well together because they are complimentary colors (opposite from each other on the color wheel...) And Detroit Tiger fans like the colors too...
Nice colors. I see a lot of orange around. Lately I have seen a switch to dark pink instead. Fashions...hehe
