oracle trouleshooting

    Hi guys,
    I am developing an ERP with Oracle as database. It was working fine for the first instance. But after shutting down and restarting again, I cannot connect my engine with the database. The error msgs in the database are
    as follows:
    when I try to connect:
    -> connected to idle instance.

    ->ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
    ->ORA-01565:failure to identify the spfilexe.ora.
    ->ORA-27046:file size is not multiple of logical block size.
    ->OSD-04012:file size mismatch (os 2561).

    the "spfileXE.ora" is not created in oraclexe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/dbs.
    I tried reinstalling but its the same problem again. Help

    Sounds nasty, are you sure the filesystem isn't altered?
