What do you guys believethe optimum key word density to be? I noticed a tool on seochat.com that allows people to check what the key word density is on a particular page. THanks, MB
I would say 10-15%, that is where I try to be, but I'm sure you will get mixed results depending on whom you ask
A recent article by respected SEO and Blog expert, Wayne Hurlbert, suggests that Google sees pages with a keyword density of greater than 2% as sp@m. It was this article which prompted me to analyze the keyword density of my copywriting website. i got this from http://www.seo-news.com/archives/2005/may/5.html 2% as spam...thats new. and whos Wayne Hurlbert anyway?
They are no fixed figures so as to speak... just make sure that the content with the keywords is readable and not sounds like keywords spamming..
IMO, there's no exact keyword density to be followed. It's up to you how you will make a good content having your keywords in it without making it sound spammy
there is no fix density for keyword, it is depends on search engine for which u r doing optimization. i prefer 4-6% for google.and works fine.
I agree. I have NEVER checked or bothered with KW %ages and I do great. Just make page sound normal. I don't believe there is any KW % Google looks for. Matter of fact, I'd be willing to bet on that.
Very debatable - depends on the length of the article, theme and others. But 2% to 10% has been popular.
I know from experience that 10-15% won't work. You can't even write a page that makes sense english wise with a 10-15% density. I've also found that google will not even index you if you go for over 10% KWD. They'll index you, but not show you anywhere in the listings. I've played around with it a bit, took a .info .99 domain from Godaddy. One had a KWD of 3.7%, and the other was at 12%, and one ended up being 1st in google of 20k or so pages, versus the 12% one which didn't show up at all. I'd be very interested to see a website that someone got to rank well with 15% KWD. MR
I don't follow a set rule for keyword density. Instead I look up the keyword density of the top ranking sites for a certain keyword, and try to mimic that. Or if I'm trying to make an article reach the top rankings of a keyword, my rule of thumb is once per paragraph. It hasn't failed me since
One of my sites is 14% (I haven't had the time to write content for it, and its on first page for a highly trafficked page. Incoming links and on-page seo are stronger than keyword density for google or something.. maybe I got lucky. You can see my example: http://unblock.cc for keyword: Unblock Myspace. ~(3 out of 21 words).
Just write naturally. The key is to get good links into your site with the keywords in the anchor text.
I am not a huge fan of keyword stuffing content. I think the keywords should be in title etc and then there should a few natural type keywords in the content but not in a way that its stuffing.
