My company uses a pitch for it's default home page. So, every user that comes through and has not been cookied as a member, gets a pitch page with an offer. The problem is that I realize that this is impeding a bot's ability to index. I believe this implementation is subject to penalization as well since it qualifies as "cloaking". However, we need to make sure the pitch is displayed to non-members when entering our Home page since it's key to our business. Does anyone know of optimal ways implement this without risking penalization? Has anyone been able to overcome a similar situation?
