Hello Everyone . . . . I know that Video SEO is relatively new, but I hope that someone here knows some stuff about it . . . I have some videos that I want to upload to metacafe which i think are pretty good "how to" videos . . . My problem is how do I optimize the video to show up in the organic listings on Google much like when you search "rat monster joke" and see a metacafe video as the number 1 listing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just stick with basic SEO rules. It's not really different. Just realize what are the title, description and what (textual) content is there.
Correct on-page optimization that the video resides on is the best method, also a good link building technique with videos is to provide a HTML code so people can insert the videos onto their web page, which would also include a link back to your website.
Sometimes i don't even put the word video in my description. Use the same principles as SEO for a normal page. Build links, use keywords. Etc etc. Also put your url on the top of the video for some direct traffic.
Ever consider that the number of views as reported by Youtube could be an indicator of relevance to search engines? I've seen evidence of this and I think it's worth testing.
