Been experimenting with trying to get a hub page to #1. It was doing well (#4) with a hubscore of 90. When score dropped to 88 the hub totally dropped out of the SERPS. Can anyone else rank hubs? Any tips?
ranking hubpages is just like ranking any other webpages. when you initially setup a page and do some link building, the hub or any other page picks up the ranking quick based on your promotional activity. but idea is to keep up with the link building otherwise the ranking will drop. see if you can get some comments on the hub and also submit some comments on other related hubs which might let those hub owners visit your hub and submit comment. also use proper tags as thats how hybpages decide your relevancy and shows your hub as related hub on other hubs in your category. social bookmarking seems to help in getting hubscore imporved.
I don't think that hub score have to do anything with its ranking in SERP's. You can optimize your hubs exactly as other webpages as "sultanofseo" already said. Try to get backlinks to your hub. Social bookmarking is good for building quality backlinks.
google does love hubpages...mine is now #2 for 'optimizing backlinks'. I know not comptitive, but its quicker with hp than similar sites IMO.
