Hi there, I need some help with this situation..

I've been doing SEO for a client for some time now. I optimized the site for 6 keywords, mainly on the top page. SERP's are good until now. My cliente told me they want to target more keywords on the site. My question is, I already did lots of submission and optimizing for the first 6 keywords, is it possible to optimize internal pages for those additional keywords or tell them to get a new domain and build a new website to optimize for the new kws.?
The reason I ask is because I've seen most webdirectories out there won't link to your internal pages if you have already submitted the main domain. Unless it is a reciprocal program.

Don't know if I made myself clear but hopefully someone has a suggestion...

    thanks a lot :D

    Blackpepper,

if the keyword terms are related to the 6 targeted on the front page you shouldn't have a problem.

Make sure your set up the internal pages with the new keywords in the extended url. E.g www.yourdomain.com/New-keywords.html .

With a good linking structure the new keywords will soon be recognised, indexed and will feature in the serps. Only if the new keywords are unrelated would I go down the new domain route.

Thankyou very much for the answer dburdon, greatly appreciated :D
and yes, the new kewwords are all related so I will go then for the new internal pages optimized for those kewwords.
I read somewhere that well optimized interal pages and a few backlinks to them would be engough to get them in the SERP's

    Thanks again...

I'm not sure if you are including this in your broad statement about "internal page optimization" or not, so I will just mention it.

Make sure you add links with the new anchortext on all your pages (assuming these will get new categories) and you will instantly get a good number of contextual inbound links.
