Hey all. I had a quick question regarding a Chicago Bears forum I assist in running at: www.bearsfansonline.com. Our forum is a bit unique in that no section of the forum can be viewed without registering. This is due to the fact that that we're a splinter group from another forum which had the same format. When we moved to our new home there was almost a 100% consensus that we keep it the same. My members felt that adding a step to being able to view the forums would keep out anyone who wasn't completely serious about being a member. Of course, besides hampering growth (I guess that's a topic for another forum), I'm sure this doesn't give google bots much to go on. Doing a search for "bears fans" or "bears fans online" brings up our site in the top 20 results or so but if you try to search for "chicago bears forum" we're nowhere to be found. When I set up the site I did nothing in the way of "optimizing" and really wouldn't know where to start even if I did. Can anyone offer any tips on how I might crack the results of that last search term? Thanks in advance.
