Optimized page ranks lower than not optimized page ?

    Hello,

We have an optimized page which used to rank high in Google for a long time. About 2 months ago, Google drop it far behind the first 10 SERPs. The strange thing is our another unoptimized page ranks around poisition 40 for the same keyword in Google now.

Yahoo and MSN do not have such problem. They all rank the optimized page high since it came online.

Just don't know why Google would like the unoptimized page much better than the optimized page ?

For you experts to analyze the situation, can I post the URLs of these 2 pages here ?

    Thank you.

Yes, provide the 2 URLs. I'm guess that it's probably the content value of the web pages in question. Remember, the whole concept of search engines is for people to find the "content" they want, not the best "optimized" web page.

The optimized page is http://www.aten.com/Cat5-KVM.htm which used to rank in top 10 in Google for keyword "cat5 kvm" but cannot find it in top 100 now.

The unoptimized page is http://www.aten.com/data/newsfiles/2007/071219_kh1508i_1516i.htm, which ranks around position 40 or 50 in Google now for keyword "cat5 kvm".

Please kindly take a look what could be wrong for this.

    Thank you.

Yes, they are getting more competitors, but why the unoptimized page would rank higher than optimized page ?
