Optimize pricing for affiliate program?

    Hi,

I'm thinking about changing my pricing completely for my web hosting plans at http://www.bounceweb.com for affiliate purposes. Right now, anyone can go on the site and order hosting for $6.95/month, no setup, month to month, where most hosts make you sign a 1 year minimum or charge a setup fee. Obviously this is to outweigh their very generous affiliate programs they have.

For example, Dot5Hosting offers $85 per sale to their affiliate, but require a customer to sign up for 2 years at $5.95 (total $118.80) therefore always earning positive revenue and profit even though they pay out a huge $85/sale.

This trend is with almost all the larger web hosts. The huge benefit of this is sites willing to join and promote their affiliate programs without hesitation, resulting in many thousands of backlinks.

    My dilemma and questions are:
    a) Should I offer the best pricing and service to my clients and future clients in exchange for a very weak, almost non-existent affiliate program.

    or

    b) Change my pricing so my clients will still get fair pricing, but must purchase a much larger initial term but increasing affiliate commissions so I will have increased backlinks?

Please give me your suggestions. Thank you for reading.

Try b) for a while a month or two and see how is going, then you can know how is good or not.

    Good luck!

P.S. change the picture of your testimonials, that intro guy looks like.... 2 gay
