    Have you tried joining blog communities like MyBlogLog and Technorati? If not, then do it. Find blogs that are similar to yours and join their communities. Add the authors as your contacts. Give genuine comments on their blogs with a link back to your site. It's a sure way to get your blogging feet off the ground. Good luck!

    Hi, just out of interest, how do you know you are getting that many visits? Are you sure your own posting, editing etc. is not getting counted? Do you know where most of your traffic is coming from?

    If by clicks you mean Adsense clicks, I know the frustration. I can only say, experiment with position - maybe try inserting the Adsense into the body text of the post, sort of like I have done here, though I only display one ad.

    A good clickthrough rate is 3%, so on a few hundred visits it is quite possible to have 0 CTs!

    Check also that you haven't screwed up the code and put someone else's publisher code in! (hey, who knows!) But I guess you ARE seeing impression stats?

    Maybe ad-blindness is getting bad... Wonder what overall CTRs are like internet-wide, whether they have fallen recently? What about some affiliate ads instead?

    Maybe your content is just too good, so people are staying instead of clicking out :)

    If you discover any secrets, be sure and let us know!

    Well, i have google analytics installed and most of my views are from america and uk, i seem to have a growing popularity in one town lol cublington, i get alot of views from that area. i have no clicks as of yet, daily views are around 60-100 and a return rate of 30%. which seems good. i comment on other pples blogs n i have recieved sum decent links back too! and this month i think i have added atleast 10-15 links to my page and to others, does being a private domain affect google traffic? and iv had a few comments saying my content is gr8 and its worth a fair bit etc even had one guy trying to buy it lol

    the code is fine, i guess i need to wait a bit longer and experiement with ad placing etc.and a good CTR is 3% how about 0% lol thanks for the info tho

    To optimize a blog site, simply put your keywords in your subdomain name, title, meta, and contents. Put h1 tags on other keywords to be seen by spider. Then insert your keywords in your content but do not stuff it. After doing that, submit your site in directories and look for a link partner then do it until Google updates the index, SERPs, PR, and Backlinks

    Keywords, words that are seen in your site or the words used when you look for your site in search engines.

    Well, that is the basic ones, but here is the biggest tip for you.

    Spider is a tool used by search engines to scan the contents found in a webpage.

    In order to add your keywords in meta, simply put this in your "Edit HTML" found in the Template tab in your own dashboard.

    <meta name="keywords" content="keyword1, keyword2, keyword3">

    PHP:
    Note: Put this in the <head> section.

    Put all your related keywords in the "content=" area.

    i did that, and i got this error

    Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure that all XML elements are closed properly.
    XML error message: The element type "meta" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "".

    so i closed the meta with an / making it look like this

    <meta name="keywords" content="keyword1, keyword2, keyword3"/>

    is that right? and can i not add anymore keywords? and how do i know which key words are best for my topic?

    well thanks alot for that tip, i assume that should boost my search engine traffic considering its none atm!

    Depends on you, to view what are the best keywords for your topic, check your keyword popularity in invetory.overture.com

    After that, check if your selected keywords may have large competitions, 1 to 50 million results may be normal and may determine that your keyword is very competitive. Simpler keywords give larger competitors.

    You meant changing the content? yes.

    Dont forget the meta description:

    <meta name="description" content="list your descriptions here"/>

    Questions questions! I tell you what, when you find out the secret, be sure and let us all know :)

    Actually, your content seems pretty good, though you should take more time over spelling, punctuation etc. Your texts are a little bit rough, you may be getting penalised for this in some way, even if it just by visitors not taking your site seriously enough. I consider myself fairly literate, and I must admit, the slightly slapdash style turns me off. If you are not really a writer, consider getting someone to proofread for you because your content seems basically good.

    The only other thing I can think of is that I think there IS quite a lot of competition for traffic in this area - a lot of those spammy ads are for body building stuff (keywords like "six-pack", "muscle" etc. come up all over the place).

    I don't have any wise advice other than that you seem to be doing mostly the right things and to keep at it. It will take a good six months before you see any results anyway because of the sandbox effect, the need for good backlinks etc.

    If your page does not say meta keyword or description, what are these things?

    yeah i think your right markowe, im very literate but i thought i was writing in a casual style, maybe not maybe i should be less casual about it? ill get someone to proofread every time now, and be more formal. I got 1 or 2 clicks over the weekend which made me happy lol. yeah your right about having large compitition but i think i have a good chance to gain my fair share of traffic eventually. I have two blogs now, this one is very broad, its a religious blog about Islam and how misunderstood it is so im discussing political issues and issues that a muslim would use in everyday life so thus giving me a large target audience..... check it out:
