optimize for clicks vs. optimize for website clicks

Can anyone explain the difference between "optimize for website clicks" and optimize for clicks? If I choose "optimize for website clicks" it says I will be charged each time my ad is served.

Check out this post on Digital Marketer. It should explain everything. Good luck!

Thanks, but that doesn't really answer my question. That post is on the difference between 2 different objectives, ie: "website conversions" and "clicks to website". My question has to do with the choice of bidding options after choosing "clicks to website" as my objective. There are 3 different bidding options:
    1. optimize for website clicks
    2. optimize for clicks
    3. optimize for impressions
Number 3 is self-explanatory but I'm not quite sure what the difference is between #1 and #2.

I guess 1. is "get more people to visit the site" and 2. is "get more people to react to your ad"

But, otherwise, it's stupid, because it's all the same.

Also, when choosing "optimize for website clicks", it says I will be charged each time my ad is served rather than just for clicks as is the case if you choose "optimize for clicks".
