Hi friends! I have designed a new business website:-

    www.kriti-shawls-scarves.com

Now, I want to promote it in google. I have put all the meta tags, description, titles and alt tags in images and text links. I have also put some content and highlighted the products in bold text(which is the main target).

Please review the website and give some tips. Should I put alt tag in the image heading at the top also ?

Somebody suggested me to lessen the number of meta-tags to 4-5. I have put the tags according to competitors website who is ranking at Top 10 with decent keywords.

Is there any harm in putting the statcounter code in home page and other pages ?

    Thanks

Looks okay so far... Give it a few and see how it ranks on google and then you can adjust.

Well if you have just started this.. relax and give some time for google to start indexing your site. Yahoo usually does this quick but then site keeps dropping after that

No real need to worry about SEO. The important thing is to offer as much detailed, unique content as possible... Google loves content, so concentrate on this element first! You will have to stick a privacy policy on there as well.

    Keep up the good work.:)

ok ok ok... liking the site, looks quite user firendly too. infact from the domain name id say u ahd a decent understanding of seo and optimisation... if u wanna rank in google its all about links... link linkslinkslinkslinks.... get yaself commenting, start a blog, get in some forums, release some PR and articles, get more content on the site with ya key words in it, the stat counter doent matter. personally id hide it unless you have something to shout about (like large traffic numbers) with a selling site i think the stat counter may be useful once ppl can see others are using ya site, start a knol, start building some links mate...

Digg dilicious etc will help get your site index quick, change a few things in ya site every so often, like the content, link to some similar sites, like does your wholesaler have a web site? with PR etc ask them for a reciplical link etc etc etc...

basically get building some links mate... then you'll rank.... used white hat techniques avoid the black hat spammy crap... get a link to yourself on your homepage... within content, like "for the best kiwik-sho-akarves visit us at kiwi-sha--svar.com" (sorry cant remember url) ... the rest... get reading googles press /blogs etc alot is miss information but read between the lines... google "matt cutts" and watch his vids on youtube etc- he's a great talker and does drop ya a few tips n hints...

looks good so far mate! hope it really takes off for ya, your onthe right road. just target your market and get selling!

    good luck

    peace xx

Should i add more contents to every page or just home page ?

I have added product description in a separate page. Is it OK?

Start writing on other blogs and leave your link there and submit your website to directories.
