Optimising my New Website

    Hello Friends! I am a VB,C,C++ Programmer and know some SEO basics. I am going to launch my New Business Website this week. I have already designed my website. Please give me some tips so that i had do some modification on my website for SEO. I am going to give meta-tags and description. My site is very static in nature except one flash movie on homepage.

    Are Image Alt tags important ?

    What should I do to rank higher in google with certain keyword apart from submission in Directories etc.) ?

    What is the first step i should take ? Submission in DMOZ and google,yahoo site submission ?

    You can target best keywords and do optimization then promote your site like, dir submission, article posting, social bookmarking, forums..
