Optimising a Word Press Site

Hi. I've been asked by a client to optimise his wordpress site. I've optimised many sites before but have no experience with Word Press. I'm looking for a plugin that makes it easy to change the Page Titles and Meta Description of each page.

The main thing I need to know:
Do I need word press installed onto my PC in order to intall the SEO plugin for his site? And if not what details do I need from my client?

Any other advice much appreciated.

all-in-one seo is a great one, wordpress offers a TON of default seo friendly things in their setup but you can also add on for even better results. google your question and you'll get the answer you need.

Check out headspace2. I've just installed it in place of all in one seo. Seems to be very good so far.

And in terms of the details i need off my client, is it FTP details or should I be able to login directly to his wordpress site? There's no login option on the site.

 

Just whatever you do bro, dont install headspace2 and all in one seo in the same blog... you will get a google penalty.

 

You can manage everything from the dashboard.

The url to get to it is http://www.***.com/wp-admin or blogname/wp-admin whatever the domain name is.

I think all in one seo still needs ftp transfer, unless it changed with wordpress 2.5

 

Was great, I'll call you in a day or so regarding the party. Won't be this weekend due to issues with my daughter. Should be next weekend I'm hoping. Will be open bar where ever we go for the entire night.

 

Next weekend might be a bad time. I'm supposed to be in Mt. Prospect next Saturday to be with some friends I haven't seen all year. Now if it's a Sunday I might be able to swing by.
