Can you help me find out what is the optimal anchor text length for external links? Thanks for your help.
Thanks Poksa. My question is a general question to understand if Google or other SE's consider only a definite number of words when they find an anchor text in a link. Do they consider them all or only the first few (as they do with titles). Besides this, is keyword density also important in anchor texts? At last, what is the number of words that other sites or directories let you put as anchor text (in general terms). I was aiming at 4-10 words but do not know if these are too many.
For me it doesn't matter as long you used your anchor text in a right way... Keyword Density is not so important it regards on SE's. But the minimum is 2-4 %.
On page SEO is one of the biggest key factors.. My site is under a week old and already on first page of google for its keyword. (1 mil competition too). Link building + onpage SEO was all that was done.
Thank you Poksa & Raithe. The Onpage Seo I have it very clear since I can decide how many words to put in my own pages for the anchor text of my inbound links. However, for links in external pages, I am not sure how many words will they let me put as anchor text. I am planning my first link campaign so I do not know how many words to aim for as anchor text in the external links.
I am not very particular about length or number of words/characters on my anchor text though the range is from one to six words. I usually use the appropriate phrase used to describe the outbound link I am pointing to. For example if I link to an interesting article about astronomy, the anchor text would look like "an interesting article on dwarf stars".
