we are running 3.1.4 (no plans to upgrade). when i run the client on my PC (win xp), as the optigold process starts up, it switches to a higher process priority - level 'high' from within the windows task manager. this causes unacceptable performance problems on my PC. it took me a while to discover that that was the problem, but since then, it's easy enough - though an annoyance - to fire up the task manager and set the process back to normal priority. my question is, why is the priority forced high? my other question is, is there any way to disable this, so that i don't have to go through this little bit of abracadabra each time i start optigold?
I'm not sure... it's definitely not anything Optigold itself is doing. The only thing I can think of is maybe FileMaker itself is doing it for some reason. Does it happen if you load FileMaker (but not Optigold)?
that's a big 'duh' on my part - i should have checked that first. yep, it goes to high priority as well. using 5.5v1. guess it's off to the filemaker pro forums!
