Optigold 'Clean Up' Menu Explained?

    Can someone from Digitalpoint explain, in technical terms, what happens when the various clean up options are run? The ISP Manual isn't very specific about these utilities.

    Validate Record ID Sequences - I have had this utility find invalid record ID sequences in Invoices, Payments on a frequent basis. Usually if the system is running slow and I run this option the performance increases.

    What would cause an invalid record ID sequence? And how does this utility fix the problem once it discovers the invalid record ID? Does it just delete the record or does it 're-assign' the record ID based on some criteria?

    Null Payments, Services, Invoices and Line Items - The ISP manual explains that these are items that do not belong to a particular customer or record. Is there some type of 'bad use practice' that would allow this to happen or is this a characteristic of Filemaker? Again, this happens quite frequently.

    Record ID sequences will find tables that the last record is not the highest record ID. It does fix it rather than delete it.

    Null items can happen on occasion when doing "God-Level Deletes".
