Opt-ins not confirming

I'm finding this really odd. Out of 48 opt-ins, only 1 has confirmed. I can't see anything I could do better on the thank-you page, and it's converting very well for the CPA offer that's on there, but they simply aren't confirming.

I'm using aweber, and there's no problems with it going to the spam box, I've checked the confirmation link atleast 5 times, and it works perfectly. What else can I do or check?

Could it be the spam bot that opt in to your list ?

I think you may email those who are not confirming with follow up mail. offer some freebies and guide them clearly how to properly opted in to your list.

Aweber should work fine and even other autoresponder like UMC ( TheUltimateMarketingCenter.com ) that I am using has no problem at all.

Does your thank you page come up after a member joins your site and asks them to opt into your newsletter?
Please post a link to your thank you page so we can have a look.
If they want news, updates, bonuses or freebies that you offer, they'd be more likely to confirm. ;)

I'd rather not post the thank you page URL here, but here's whats on it:

This line sounds a bit spammy. Maybe you could reword it a little, and not tell them that you will be emailing them later. When you email them they will understand that you are emailing them.. This might be a bit of a turn off to be reminded that they are going to get more than one email.

I was thinking that actually, but the niche I'm targeting isn't Internet Marketing, they haven't read 1000 things like that before. I don't know.

Well, it could be worth a try. Change the wording and see if it makes a difference. Try it out for a week, and if it doesn't work, change it back ;)

    I think you should say:

Thank You! Almost Done... One (1) Last Step To Do

You will now receive a confirmation email from asking you to confirm your email address by clicking on the link inside the email.

Just click on that link to receive your gift.

    That's all

Of the 48 who signed up, one wonders how many used real e-mail addresses.

    People do the damndest things.

And then you have the ones who don't open their e-mail right away. When they do get around to it, they have lost the interest.

Perry just because you have no idea how to run a successful list, it doesn't meant they don't work.

Why don't you try the Live Support that Aweber offers for free?
    Maybe they'll have some suggestions.

Scragglefish, I used to have the exact same problem. The way I got around it was keeping the thank you page within the "theme" of the site, and telling them to check their email to confirm their subscription -- otherwise they won't receive their free bonus. This then entices them to immediately open up their email client and confirm. In the two weeks that the site has been live I've yet to have an unverified lead.

You can check how I've done this by visiting The Money Vault and unsubscribing straight after (if you want to ;)).

    All the best,
    Liam
