I have tried doing one opt-in form and I have also tried having two in the same site. Having two of them gave me much higher subscriber rate than having just one at the bottom of the squeeze page. I see a lot of squeeze pages only have one, and it is usually all the way at the bottom. Putting one at the top left or top right should increase your opt-in rate as well.
I agree with putting it at the top would most likely improve your optin rate. If its not at the top of the page it should be placed where, once the visitor comes to the site they don't have to scoll down to see it
Thanks for the tip. I agree completely. A great squeeze page should be designed to give the visitor only two choices: opt-in, or leave. So it makes sense to have the opt-in form at the top of the page where the visitor can clearly see it without having to scroll down. And it also makes sense to put another opt-in form at the bottom of the page so that if the visitor continues reading to the very bottom, then they don't have to scroll back up again to opt-in. What you should be aiming for is to make the opt-in process as convenient and easy as possible. Don't give the visitor an excuse to leave. Cheers!
Yeah good observation. My squeeze pages are usually so short I only use one though. And I put it in the top right for the best conversions.
I was just looking for an article like this... telling me where a good place to place my opt-in form is. (for my new blog). Thanks for posting, I agree.
