I helped a realtor with getting a blog/CMS up about 7 weeks ago. The site hit #1 on MSN and #1 on Yahoo so far for certain keywords which will remain obvious when you visit the site. What are your thoughts on the webcopy and basic layout. thanks. www.carolswenatchee.com
IMHO I would add a sitemap of her main website on the blog. Second I would add a feature that archives all post as blogger does. Third I would make sure that any keywords that are used are linked back to the pages that relate to that key phrase within her main site. Fourth I would change the title tag to show Wenatchee Real Estate Blog and let the script fill in the last portion of the title tag based on the post title. Get rid of other tags you have on there. They are to long and can only hurt you. These are just a few suggestions....Hope this helps.
Thanks Wayne. Yeah, I'm still trying to work on the sitemap thing. I just can't find a free software for sitemap generator. Any ideas? I went to Google sitemaps, but they require you to know all this programming nonsense. Second, there is an archives page. Regarding the script. Do you mean that I should erase the keyword descripton, "rock island real estate"? Why do you think this would hurt me. thanks again. dean
On this Page which I am assuming is the start to your blog. I am suggesting that your only Title Tag that is on all pages is Wenatchee Real Estate Blog or Rock Island Real Estate Blog not both - and let the script place the second title tag based on the posting title. Which ever of those phrases is search the most that is what I would make my main title tag and include the word blog in it. Sorry I do see the archives page, I must have just missed that. Try this for a sitemap Generator dont know to much about them but found it on the internet. From what I read it seems easy to use.
The number of characters used in your title tag presently is to long and IMHO will delute the page relevancy.
Absolutely. One thing I like about the blog is the amount of outgoing links to good sources in the community. It helps a lot to let spiders find good, relevant sites from yours. The blog looks good. Good luck!
The photo of here is abysmal. You can see the shadow from the flash, and it looks cheap. Everything else is classy, but she is the first thing you see.
I agree. by the way, I'm actually not a web designer, so I was impressed by own amateurish design skills and use of layout. I'm currently having a designer implement a new blog skin into the site and it'll give it a more real estate feel to it. The new design should be up in 2 weeks or so. Webspy? Hmmm...does this mean that you spy on other webdesigns?
