Hi adsensers, I wanted to get your opinion on something. I was thinking the other day that maybe by removing an adsense ad, I could actually make more money. My theory is this. If I have 3 ad units on my page all showing text ads, that works out to be about 13 ads on average. But what if only say 6 of those are paying out in the higher dollar amounts and the rest are just paying 5 cents. Is it a sound theory that reducing the amount of ads could prompt google to only display the top pay ads in the space alotted? I did a quick google and found some people having similar discussions but I wanted to get some live info from people that have already done it. Thanks.
Yup! it can be possible that using quality dimensions of ads to the relavant positions can give you impressive money as compare to encoding big ads
Interesting thought process but my thinking is that if you have more ads, well more relevant ads, the view is more likely to click on one instead of moving on. Granted, a nickle for an ad isn't your or my goal but it's better than the person moving on to the next web site. Your typical MFA site is nothing but ads and we all know they generate revenue albeit via a semi-black hat strategy. What works for me is a balance, a fair amount of content with a fair amount of ads... not sure if that is the best but it's clearly working for me.
jezzz, you might be misunderstanding. I am theorizing that eliminating (not changing the style) at least 1 ad unit might increase my earnings.
