Hey everybody, I'm trying to decided on the layout of a shopping cart for a friend of mine and was wondering if anybody could help out with their experience as to the effectiveness of a 3column layout vs. a 2 column layout.

Here is an example of a 3 column layout:

Here is an example of a 2 column layout:

Please ignore the colors, graphics and the like as these are simply examples.

If experience says a 2 column is more effective, is it more effective to have the menu on the left or the right?

    Hehe..full of questions.

Thanks for any advice, it's certainly appreciated.

I personally like the 2 column layout better.

    I hate cluttered pages.

Thanks Colbyt. Those were my sentiments too, make it easy to see what's available for sale without distractions.
