In general it looks good. I would suggest putting a sharp vibrant picture across the top to really draw attention. Also, the content seems fluffy. When I clicked on camera tips I expected tips on how to get a better picture....not how many memory cards I should own.

I like the layout... crisp clean and graphic. But I would seriously change the photograph. On my PC the image just looks dark and murky and pixelated (is that a real word??)

    Hi

I'd change the photo too, not a "best digital photo", try something bright and sparkly like a water shot like this http://www.inthewild.org/Pageimages/AddLifewaterboy_opt.jpg

My monitor is set for 1024 and I'd like to see a "liquid" design, rather than 800x600 with so much white space, or atleast centered.

The menu overhangs the main part of the page and doesn't sit nicely on the grey bar.

This page doesn't work for me, hard to read. Reduce the text size and tone down the yellow (but it is late and my eyes are tired).

From a page construction point of view, I gather you use Dreamweaver. That's cool but move the javascript to a new file so that it is cached for your users and doesn't trip up googlebot.

Take a few hours to learn abit about CSS, just the basics - nothing too tricky - which will free you from the some of the javascript on your site. I'd also hide the preload in a separate file.

CSS will also let you optimise the html on your page so that you have a better ratio of content : tags.

Oh yeah, I agree that Picasa is just awesome!

Good luck getting it going though, you picked a great domain name!

I'm guessing you found a good ppc rate for the term 'digital photography' and built a site around those terms to place adsense and other affiliate ads. At least that's what it looks like to me.

The site is very stark. The photo is dark and unappealing. The header looks like it was created in paintbrush. It just does not have a rich, warm, professional look it. Especially the navigation buttons extending past the gray 'border' down the side of the page. The whole site looks very 1999.

My recommendation is to find a nice template from template monster or some other similar template service that has a rich, attractive appeal and build your site around it. For example, take a look at the City of Union web site. I created this at no charge for the town in which I live because they had such a crappy website. I found a template that had the graphical elements I was looking for, changed the colors and built the site. It's simple, clean and attractive. You can do the same thing with your site as well.

    Good luck

Thanks for everyone's feedback - much appreciated. I will be making some changes based on your feedback.
I have been site build it for my site and I have been thinking about switching so another hosting service so I can control more of the actual html code. Anyone out there ever switch from site build it? Tips?
    Thanks again.

    Hi,

This is a really small point, so please don't just laugh and tell me to shut up, however your links are not quite in the centre. I think there is a 1px difference - you might want to add a pixal to the right hand side to centre it. Other than that (very small point) I liked the site. I would take the advice of other postings and change the image as it really isn't a good image to sell your site.
