Opinions needed - Strict XHTML vs. Strict HTML4.01

I’ve almost finished a webpage using Strict XHTML. In another thread on another subject, BRUm contends that Strict HTML4.01 is the much better way to go and (it seems to me) he made some very good points. I’ve rewritten my index page in Strict HTML4.01, but before I go any further, I’d like more opinions. I’m pretty new at web design, so I do not have any strong opinions myself.

 

Any of them will do in real life there is no difference.
