What do people think about Nintendo Wii names? I guess the normal rules would apply... short, meaningful, etc. I saw that Nintendo bought a pile of domains using the format: WiiLove.com and WiiEarth.com. I registered: www.Wiivil.com, www.WiiGii.com, and WiiUnion.com The previews have been well received, though there's been some discomfort with the Wii name (pronounced "weee"). It's supposed to be launched before Christmas.
I only bought one that I intend to develop: wiier.com There was someone selling pretty much the best possible Wii domains on here or SP a week or two ago.
Here is a sample of prices I found on sale right now from another forum (domain name only). >wiigaming.com - $500 >wiiguides.com - $300 >wiisystem.com - $200 >wiipreviews.com - $150 >wiicontest.com - $150 I guess the value of Wii domains will depend on how the hype develops. The only big burst so far was during the E3 conference. I suspect the next bug burst of hype will be when pricing is announced in September. I'm guessing low to mid-$XX on my names (wiivil.com and wiiunion), except www.wiigii.com, which has some potential beyond Wii gaming. For wiier.com, I'd appraise at less than $500, but more than $99. I suppose that if you develop a site, you'll be able to see how well you can get traffic. My other comment is that such names have a valuable life of about four years. That seems to be a reasonable life span for a successful game console.
