When using a multi-word url when the last letter of the first word matches the first letter of the last word, do you find it better to hyphen or not to hyphen?

    EX:
    Design Nugget
    desinnuget.com :eek:r: design-nuget.com

    Naked Design
    nakeddesign.com :eek:r: naked-design.com

Neither site has an relevance here, but they make good examples.

without the hyphen will always be better because it's easier for a user to remember and it's easier to say as well. If the domain without the - is available, I would recommmend going that route.

As always, very helpful fsmedia. I agree it's easier to remember. My only issue was that it seems more asthetically pleasing with it. Perhaps buying both and forwarding the hyphenated is the best route.

I also always prefer non hyphenated names in most cases but you are right in this instance the hyphen is more asthetically pleasing.

It kinda depend on how you will market the site. If you are doing any marketing verbally, aka, telling people about the site, the non hyphen version is definately better.

I prefer non-hyphenated urls IF the first word does not end with the same letter as the second word's first letter. Unfortunately, both of your examples have this issue. I'd use the hyphenated versions as primary urls and forward their counterparts to them

    both

    nakeddesign.com
    designnuget.com

look less pleasing on the eye (and even harder to rememeber) than

    naked-design.com
    design-nuget.com

    Hi,

I think you'll find a 50-50 split for this one.

But I would add one thing. Whichever domain you decide to promote, make sure you BUY BOTH domains!!!

If you don't and your site becomes popular, someone could buy the second domain and put up a p*rn site on it - for example.

    Cheers,
    Paz.

Defiantly no hyphen unless no other domain is available
