My goal is to earn about $400 a month from my website by the end of this year. I'm a noob when it comes to earning money from a website so I need everyone's opinion. This website will be about me and my dog. Yes I know it doesn't sound interesting, but what if I take my dog fishing and use him as shark bait, or maybe strap him on the hood of my car and drive him down the highway at 100mph. Most of the content will be video, photos and illustrations. Does this sound interesting enough to earn $400 a month within 8 months?
Maybe it all depends on the site, good and funny content=many visitors and those could be making you the money you need. Dog/pets related affiliate programs and adsense are the things you could use to monetize your site.
It all depends on the type of visitors that you are targetting. Generally, the traffic from most of my sites comes from search engines because i target certain keywords. As for your personal site, i think only your friends would be interested to find out what you're doing....
Dogs are a dime a dozen, hehe. Guess I'm gonna have to develop the site and get everyone's opinion then.
i can tell you, it would take you more than 8 month to generate 400 from type of website. you first would need to go through the whole optimization process to place your site in a good position in google. i dont know what would be your desired keywords "animal cruelty"?
I do not think your goal is realistic, you will have to get tons of traffic to your site before you will be able to make any type of real money. Building traffic takes time, with the right amount of traffic you would be able to make some money with adsense. I do not think it's possible for you to achieve this goal within 8 months.
