    http://www.aqualoc.com.au/

I came across this website and noticed their home page is full of hidden keywords in green.

It looks like it hasnt been updated for 7 or so years.

What sort of punishment can they expect from the SE's if any for trying silly trix?

Likely they will be ignored as far as those "keywords". Too bad, at least a few of those sentences need to be obvious on the site, since there's nothing else there to explain the site. Possibly, that is a Splash page which is ignored by teh googles but if the main pages don't have such silliness, they may get indexed like normal. The text isn't hidden very well. It's like a half-hearted attempt.

I have read (a while ago) that sites used to write text in white on white backgrounds to fool the SE's into sending traffic for those keywords.

Do you think this is an attempt at that?

I am sure the major search engines punish them for that, (then again, how did you come across the site (search engine?))

    Here are some quotes,

Yep, a blackhat technique - if noticed they are punished

Google has a specific clause about that. They have the right to ban you from their search engine.

I don't think it's a good idea at all as if Google picks up on it then you can be ranked lower than normal or even de-listed.

Well... consider that Google shows 2 whole references to the site.

Pretty hard to get any worse than that in terms of SEO.

They're already done. They may just not know it yet.
