Hi all, ive identified a keyword id like to use as the domain name, however only the org.uk domain is available. Whats your opinions on this? is it likely it would not rank on google.com? how do you think it would rank with google .co.uk thanks
How many searches does this keyword get in the uk? If it is well searched in the uk than it would worth the investment and easier to rank in the uk. Exact match domains are great but don't stress if you can't get exact .com. You'll just need better links to rank it. Perhaps try adding another word on the end of the keyword to get your .com Good luck
Make sure those 45k searches are for exact keyword match, if yes, then it's a huge amount of traffic possible.
yes it is. Domain purchased! one final question as its relevent..i own a .com which is in the same nich and will cover the same topics exactly. What would be the ideal setup... a redirect from the . .org.uk to the .com A copy of the .com onto the org.uk site.. or new content ( not sure if google would penilise the new site for content being the same...) would the .org.uk rank even if its just a redirect?
No particular reason, ive always had.com as the target ordiance was the world... If i could get the .com fo these keywords the global search per month would have been 700k. With targeting the uk im down to 45k.
