OpenX is best, from what I am seeing so far, as it's raking me money.
Tom: What's the reason for you to seek something else other than OpenX?

Because, you can't use it for free anymore, and if to pay - it's better to pay for the wider range of offered functions, which are, btw, simpler to use

I use "community" based OpenX for my ad server for my sites.

    See here: http://www.openx.com/publisher/open-source-ad-server

You can buy plugins from http://www.openxmods.com/ for your specific needs.

The OpenXMods have the consulting services who can help you for your specific needs.

Sometimes, it's best to buy something or support that will help you.

    Nothing is free.

agree on nothing is free statement. regarding Epom, it's free for two months for everyone, and their pricing after trial period... guyz, it's pretty affordable. let's say it this way :)
nothing against OpenX though. old school platform, but Epom seems faster and easier for me.

Looking for some advice and help. Background information. I have a website and would like to offer advertisers the ability to set up their own ads and text based ads through an interactive portal, and at the end pay a specified amount for either impressions, CPC, etc. In addition, they will have the option to target ads by geographical area and/or platform, mobile, desktop, browser, etc. After the campaign has been set up, they can log in and view statistics, graphs for their campaign. I can have an admin portal to edit the campaign if necessary. Is there anything out there that will help me accomplish just what I'm describing above? I'd rather not use a pay over time solution, but instead a free or single purchase commercial script. Thanks for the help and feedback. - Tex

You need ad server. Try some proper platforms: Epom, Adzerk, SmartAdServer. I'm using Epom as ad server and more than happy with it. Just because they have all kinds of targeting (even Custom, which let you target keywords) and plenty of rich media banners.

Thanks for your response Global Change. Will this allow my customers to set up ad campaigns for my website? Do any of the recommended ad servers above take a percentage of the profit per transaction, monthly fee, one time fee?

    Thanks

My latest experience is related to Epom, there's no fee, if you server not more, than 250K impressions per month, there's no set-up free, and you've got 60 days trial to check out, if it works for you

Oh, seems like you wanna start your own network. Epom offers that too, special solution for networks with white labelling and lots of features. DOn't know about prices for that, but def you'll have trial version for month or two...
