1$b = 1 Billion, I think it's probably more in the high millions, but everyone exagerates online eh or do they
ditto...parents said their money was "their money and my money would be my money". Work in hotel General Management so depending on what part of the country you're in salaries are fairly similar. The only people I keep my salary from are people in my industry
I'm pretty open as well with friends /family. Doesn't concern me. I don't disclose what I make with other professionals in my line or whatever though.
It's also difficult to be open about it when you never finished university and you are earning way more than your friends that are doctors, lawyers or engineers
I don't care who knows what I make because well they most likely make more then I do. But, then again, I don't mind people telling me what the make either, I am happy if my friends are making a boatload of cash. Life is to short for jealousy.
Sometimes I hate it when people tell me how much they make. It's like when a girl comes and dances on my lap and then says "I make $20 for lapdances" and then sticks out her hand.
Hmm Tacos.. Getting back on to the subject of the thread, I'd not tell anyone what I was earning - I did this once, and I had family members and friends asking to borrow money left, right and centre, and cos Im a soft bas*ard, I said yes. So now I don't say anything, apart from I'm skint .. broke..
I dont really like posts on message boards such as this where people ask how much people earn. I know as a newbie you want to know if people are making a good living online, but when people ask these questions, they get stupid answers or false answers. The only person I tell how much I earn is my accountant.
If you make a lot and reveal it online, you run a risk that the newspaper delivery guy will sue you for tripping over your garden hose a year ago which has left one of his toe with a permanent twitch causing him to have low sperm count.
Nitin you crazy SOB. If I tell my family they would never leave me alone. We live a comfortable lifestyle but I don't need cousin whatshisfuck asking me questions or trying to borrow money.
You're British! WTF are you doing there if not on holiday? AT least move across the northern border! That's what in the US is called the typical compensation culture. That's what in the world is called the typical American (compensation) culture. I think it's gone a step too far, but what can you do? It's spreading worldwide, starting from the UK. Sorry gworld, but it's not that funny. Back to the subject, I really don't know how much I make, nor do I precisely want to know, at least overall. Single projects, I don't mind checking how I'm doing with them. Anyway, if you tell people, it might not harm you in most cases, but it really depends on circumstances and the prevailing culture and attitude. Some might use that info against you, in a way or in another, whether you told them or you told someone else who let that piece of info go. After all, info is precious, if you give it away, you're not getting it back.
