Your search feature looks really good, wish you good luck with that script, i'm gonna add you to some relevant categories of my directories
Nice script but no captcha available on demo ? Can you add subcategories to the demo cause i wanted to see how the submit page looks like with subcategories. Regards
Havn't heard about it so I checked it up.. it seems like it would be possible by just making a plugin.
What about conversion from phpld to openld? Also can you post screenshot of admin side, i do not see any admin side of demo. And what sort of paypal integration is there? Is it where you enter a IPN url in your paypal to make it work?
Good idea, but unfortunally.. such thing is not available so far. Here's some old screenshots covering some parts of the admin section You enable a paid and/or sponsored link type, optionally change the price/currency. Then ensure that the admin email match your paypal account. Then you get money. The whole process takes like 2-4 seconds.
What are the advantages of using OpenLD rather then the other already established link directory scripts from the market such as phpld, phplynx and so on. How can you convince me ? Thank you
I havn't tried phplynx but I have tried phpLD like one year ago. It is certainly a great script, but OpenLD has some advantages. OpenLD has an extension system. Instead of installing a tricky mod in phpLD where you have to edit 5 files that can be damaged by an update, you can just download a zip folder, unpack it, upload it to the extension folder and install it. It has a better search feature than phpLD(more options). It is available for 3 different databases(MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite), phpLD is only compitable with MySQL. It has support for plugins which lets you to easily extend the admin section. The installation require very few steps and you could enable/disable SE friendly urls without touching .htaccess, the script touch it for you. But I'm not comparing with the free version of phpLD, I am comparing with the paid version. Although, there's still some features in phpLD that you can't see in OpenLD, such as database backup etc. But such simple features can easily be implemented thanks to the extension and the plugin system. If you want to see more about some of the features that you get with OpenLD, checkout the feature list. Although, to get a fair opinion, you might try it out.
Thank you for your time and interest. I will surely try it out but in the mean time I asked " how can you convince me " so that other people reading this post can get an idea of what they are going to get before they even install it. That would be great or ? Its a question of mentality and I am personally really tired of seeing an Internet full of "powered by phpld" Open source power for me! BTW: Are you one of the OpenLD developers? Best regards
