Opening .Gz file

How to open / read an. Gz file which is generated in the maillog on linux?

 

use the gunzip command

 

Can you tell me how to uncompress it with gunzip?

 

gunzip filename.txt.gz (where filename.txt.gz is the name of the file you wish to uncompress)

 

gzip -d file.txt.gz
cat file.txt
less filr.txt

or

zless file.txt.gz
zmore file.txt.gz

 

gunzip -d filename.gz

 

or Download/Copy that file to Windows PC
Use winrar to extract
