hi guys, i am opening a proxy... need some guides and help... use phproxy or cgiproxy? i installed cgiproxy and it contains 2 files nph-proxy and readme file... where should i edit or make my template? i have to access to www.domain.com/nph-proxy.pl to usse to script... how do i make www.domain.com the main page to use the script? help appreciated.. i made my template in html, but i do not know where to implement it? is it in the nph-proxy file? or do i have to create a new index ?
Open your http://www.domain.com/nph-proxy.pl on your browser, view source then copy the html form. Paste it on your main page. CGIProxy is very resource heavy, unless you have your own dedicated server, i suggest you use PHPProxy.
True, but using php-proxy you cannot access pages, that have login forms..like DP. Therefore I would recommend cgi proxy, because, initially you are not going to have 1000 uniques a day Also, CGI proxy is faster..this will give you more returning visitors for your site.
cgiproxy is faster? no it really isn't. PHP Proxy is alot faster, however yes it cannot login to sites like myspace, digitalpoint. I would say intergrate both, and limit cgi proxy to myspace.com only.
Get me to code it for you ? $35 ? PM me. I would suggest CGI, as you can give the alternative of being able to log into website such as myspace and bebo. Alex
Just copy the code as they said. Basically you're just putting an input box in a form that directs here: http://yourproxy.com/cgi-bin/cgiproxy/nph-proxy.pl/010110A/x-proxy/start
I could help for free. go to Http://focused.org/f-proxies/ and make a thread there. Also read http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=153779
thanks guys... i solved the prob... thanks anyone whos in this proxy industry for many years and have experience in running a sucessful one?
I prefer cgi proxy, simply because, it does not have any restriction, i.e. you can browse, sites that require logins, as well at SSL. Also, I find it easier to customize, and make templates for. I can make one for anyone for a reasonable price.
Good.Which script you used?If you are not techy then i prefer PHP since it's hard to modify cgi script but it is very good. PHP Proxy uses more bandwidth and less resources where as CGI Uses less bandwidth and more resources Hope it helps Saad
I didn't know this, thanks for telling. That's why my cgi proxy site was using just about 200mb per day, and more than 30% of my server's resources
