Opening a new Gmail Account

So before I was able to send invites to myself and sign up to as many as I wanted but now it seems each one needs to be phone verified. Is this the case for everyone or just cause I am sending them to myself?

    Any work-arounds?

    thanks

I have never run into the problem of getting phone verified by google. It is possible to have someone make a gmail account for you.

I've tried couple of times for my friends accounts and there's no problem with phone verification. It's one of the best way to test true human making account and probably for GOogle's reference like where country registrant came from.

Yeah, I experience this too when creating gmail accounts. Gmail accounts need to be verified via sms code. I think this is to prevent people from creating multiple gmail accounts in a day.

Yes, Google started phone verifying accounts. I suppose it was due to spammers making tons of them.

Funny I've just come across this thread. I just tried to create a new gmail account and came across the phone verification. I could not get past it - it text messaged me a code. I put in the code and it doesn't accept it. I tried 2 more times to no avail. This sucks.

This google innovation is so funny. When you have to verify your mobile phone to get a google account.
Google will go down in a year or two if they continue this funny innovation. I might use yahoo mail than register all my mobile phones to get a funny email.

I opened a new gmail account with no problem phone verification not required, so I am making a guess here that it only applies to the USA and not to any other country - yet?

yes, i tried this thing....they have started mobile phone verification and persons will not be able to get the multiple google a/c.

Gmail a/c mainly are using by the link builders or webmasters, but they will use only what ever they have or single person will use their phone verified a/c's.

This will stop the spam + will increase genuineness.
All the best to Google towards this endeavor.
