OpenCart is the better choice over OsCommerce... The OpenCart system is easy for creating modules, templates and add-ons. The code is clear and the system runs quite fast... I have a client with 15,000 items and the site loads and runs fantastic.... They have already completed over 2400 orders and not one had a problem. Someone mentioned prestashop... That one is an up-and-coming star in the making!!
I think that OpenCart is the best choice for now... It need more people to work on it and to fix the problems and to write modules and so on, but as i see in future OpenCart may become one of the best, and why not better than most of the paid systems I have some shops with it and i am glad with it - its fast and easy enough. P.S. Also if somebody want to have custom theme for opencart - drop me a message, i can help
last time I used oscommerce ( about 2-3 years ago ) it was a mess and it didn't seem like it was going to be fixed. I didn't like that I would have to go through some serious code hacking just to install some modules. Modules should be easy to install like in wordpress. Magento is too slow. Is opencart better at modules ?
Take a close look at the support forums. Are they active? Are questions being answered? Do people seem happy? If not, move on to another ecommerce script.
Hello, I've used OpenCart number of times with no hassles. I haven't got any problem with it yet. I'd like to prefer OpenCart instead of Os commerce. Regards, Assasin
My vote goes to http://www.ecwid.com/. SaaS using Amazon Web Services and developed by the creators of x-cart.com. Very different approach that saves a lot of tech work.
yes, im getting hate osCommerce as well. It's hard to setup and manage. Also, it's very hard to installl themes
In my opinion, osCommerce is a better choice, as the majority of systems like Shopingcart and others are made at the basics of osCommerce system That is why I consider it to be better
Yeah, I go for OpenCart for sure. I like it very much for small shops. It is improving a lot with an active community and it's growing. My vote goes for Opencart.
