Open Source Script Rebranding

    Hi,

I am part of a large community that use an e-commerce script, but the development stopped nearly a year ago and no staff return any contact.

The script is licensed under GNU GPL v2.

My question is, under this license, would it be possible (and legal) to completely re-brand this script under a different name and remove all traces of the previous brand?

    Thanks,
    John

I just read the TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR COPYING, DISTRIBUTION AND MODIFICATION under the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE. They terms allow you to change the script, but you must acknowledge their brand on your site.

This site seems to be very active. I do not know why no one answers your communications. I think your best course of actions is trying harder to get in touch with GNU.

    Thanks, Andrew.

I appreciate the response. I've contacted GNU but as of yet have had no response.
