After I got ecommerce website built, then came the seo part for which I didn't know anything. I checked around and seo folks were charging $300 to $5,000 per month. I read a book on seo from library and dp forum was mentioned as a good source. After browsing several thread and posts and posting manyl queries, I quickly learnt the secrets of seo. Here what I did: 1.Submission to 800-1000 directories from pr0-pr8, about 100 a month on average. 2.Article submission about 30 or so on ezinearticles..com site only on each of the keywords to avoid duplication of contents on other articles sites. 3.Created on my website 75pages for each of the 75 keywords -content writings. 4.Meta tages - uniques titles for each of the keywords. 5.And some itsy-bitsy seo here and there on my site. Although ranking is pr3 as I didn't do anything for the last 4-6months, but except for 3 or 4 keywords, my site still showing up in G..serps on the first pages for all of my 70 keywords. (Hard work of just 6 months in total) What more you could ask for from dp forum members? - thank you guys. At this point of time, I believe continous link building and updating is the key. Hope my this little contribution will encourage newbies here. Best of luck.
Yes what will be interesting to know is how competitive are these 70 keywords that u targeted and how much traffic are u getting from search engines.
During holiday season traffic 800 to 1100 per day but now-a-days slow season 100-120 per day. I use this tool for keywords search data analysis: http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/
Congratulations! DP is really a great source for advice. I improved a lot since I joined However, I would find interesting if you could specify the benefits you got from those 30 published articles... Did they bring you any real backlinks? Any quality traffic?
do you live in a time zone where every day is 50 hours? i mean... >Article submission about 30 or so on ezinearticles..com site only on each of the keywords >Created on my website 75pages for each of the 75 keywords -content writings. sounds like an enormous effort...
Yes, lot of work for 6 months but every day submission to 5-6 directories which are offered here in dp, writing 1-2 articles/publishing every week shouldn't be hard for any seo. Look for niche keywords, make pages, write on those keywords and publish. No link exchange by the way, often they remove after a while, so waste of time. Content is the king, this where G...pulls up your site in serpsa nd so do others.
Thanks for sharing. Wow 800-1000 directory submissions... but I thought google hated directories? I guess not!
Thanks for sharing your views with us, you will get more traffic as well good ranking after doing seo on continuous basis. When your website will get old, then see the result..
Hey, thanks for really spelling it out. Knew much of it, as im sure many others do - but it's always nice to see these encouraging posts
I think there are 2 kind of webmasters/owners/organizations, those who know alot and those who don't know much and feels they can get dream results if they hire all these $5k seo experts. It is NOT seo experts fault obviously, it is just that when I see people offering search engine submission that makes me sad. Good for you that you chose to do your own work.
