We all know that onpage SEO is important, and I can see that this section of the forum is pretty much focused on discussions of onpage SEO. But I believe offpage SEO is equally important to onpage SEO if not more important. So the question is... Which do you believe is the deciding factor for search engine traffic? Onpage SEO or Offpage SEO?
Actually both are important. but basic requirement of on page optimization then off page optimization. but very most important in both them is On Page Optimization.
I agree with pollux in one respect - they're both important, however I think that off page seo is a lot more important. Example: I am working with a client at the moment who has done no on page seo (their structure is very good with plenty of keyword rich interlinking, but there is virtually no content on any of their pages) - but they have gone about sourcing high quality, RELEVANT links with keywords in their anchor text. They now rank highly for some really competitive phrases that they have the links for - BUT the on page seo is definitely required to give them that last little boost and get them truly excellent positions. The moral of the story is that if you do one without the other then you'll get some OK results, but do both together and that's when you'll get the best results possible...
First you have to work on on-page optimization then continue with off-page optimization. Both must be done simultaneously for optimum result. I don't think we can separate them
When you believe both are equally important, why didn't put that option in poll options, like o Equally important ? You have to run them side by side, that's it.
I think the Both are Important. Onpage SEO and Offpage SEO are both require the to getting the ranking.
I think on page SEO is probably more important. Off page is obviously also highly important however I think content carries more weighting when looking to rank. However, I believe the more competitive the keyword, the more importance links carry as content is no longer usually THE deciding factor. When looking to rank for long-tail phrases on page is definitely more important and carries more weight. Remember also that on page SEO should naturally lead to more links coming in anyway.
Onpage first with quality content, than offpage for back links. Without the back links the site will not rank high and if it does it wont be for long without the links.
Both are equal in search engine eyes. They have their own duties and importance to a website. But since you asked that question, off-page is far better for me. You can rank a site by just using off page optimizing.
in some term, some seo are not allowed by their client to redesign the website. like in my situation. imo, I think it is best to focus no only in onpage optimization because offpage is often done weekly if they have to update the contents of the site..
HI, i have been doing research from long time and found that to come at top ranks on page plays some role but not as much high if compared to off page optimization. Also if you are at top ranks then traffic ratio would because automatically high..
agree. On page is more important for easy to achieve long tail keywords (only because it's easier than off page) - but for phrases which are hard to achieve you need on page, but off-page becomes the thing you really have to concentrate on as without it uyou ain't getting anywhere (in general)
