Onpage optimization... the final quest

Hello dear members and collegues,

I had a though to share the knowledge that I have on onpage optimization.

From the different methods I will summarize the most used ones!

After we made the appropriate keyword optimization we can start doing the onpage optimization.


Method 1: fill in the <title> tag

Have in mind that the <title> tag is the first thing to optimize. How? Just by putting your keywords inside <title> keyword / keyphraze </title>

What is necessary to have in mind is that the keyword optimization lasts untill your site is online. This means that revisions has to be made from time to time.


Method 2: use the META description

put your keywords in the META description ans find out how to use the META tags overall.

Google and other search engines check the META tags, but never miss the description!


Method 3: use the heading tags (H1, H2, etc...)

Use your keyphrase in heading teags as title of your page. The idea is to not over do it, just play smart!


Method 4: make use of the alt image tag

Use your keyphrase in the images alt tags - it does makes a difference


Method 5: use the bold, underline, italic (<b>, <u>, <i>)

Always find a way to have your keyphraze at least once in bold or underlined or italic.


WHAT NOT TO FORGET!!!

- make your images names appropriate (use the specific page keyphraze!!!)
- make your page names appropriate (use the specific page keyphraze!!!)
- if it is possible choose a nice and relevant domain name

I may sound like an English teacher, but I found a lot of spellings errors:

collegues - colleagues
I had a though - I had a thought
lasts untill - lasts until
revisions has - revisions have
description ans find - description and find

 

I am glad you made this effort for newbies, and it's pretty much all true and well laid out (unlike some of these posts) but nothing new in here
I think it should have had a post title targeting new SEOs

Everything but Method 5 is important. Method 5 is a bit spammy IMHO.

Cool Post, but it might have been worth mentioning the most important factor of "On Page", which for me would be the value of Unique Quality Content. All of the above keyword optimization methods need to relate or match to the Page Content. They also need to be Unique for each page

Also you dont add keywords to your Meta Description, you add them to the Meta Keywords. For Description you use a catchy sentence or two about the page thats both relevant to the page and enticing to click on.

 

Don't add keywords in Meta Discription, is this true? It can not be harmful to have keywords there, if the fall into the sentence naturally can it?

I want to thank you all about the green reps to this thread.

Concerning the META description I just pointed it out as a method, not how it is done.

Today I logged in just in short, but as soon as I can (hopefully today or tomorrow), I will post how META is used and also some suggestions on how to use it for SEO purposes.

Its some good basic for beginner, dont bother about the english. Its fine as long as its understandable.

Well great advices for newbies. But as someone said before nothing new ... But for newbies, i also advice them to use a great software (it's not free but it's worth the money). IBP - Arelis. It helped me so much, not only by seo`ing my page, but after a while, you learn much from it and you can do the seo on your own. It's great for starters. Good luck
