Does anybody have a good explanation why my blog, (http://www.schoolsofafrica.com/) has gone from 3 months of normal AdSense to PSA, (Public Service Ads)?

You are only getting PSA on the home page, not inner pages and archives.

Possibly the words on that page are causing it, maybe hangover or kicked in the groin

It's probably because Google has a big heart and they want to help the victims of hurricanes that has hit the south recently. It's all good because
they are pointing the ad to the American Red Cross. :)

I noticed that, so I guess there is something in the homepage that they are not big fans of.

I've gotten a lot of PSA ads on site(s) where I have had regular Adsense ads before. Some were for the Red Cross. In my opinion, Google should shell out a couple million from their huge cash stockpile instead of - almost stealing - their publishers' visitors.

And surely I am not the only one to use such words.

@ FFMG: there is a good read about so-called "stop words" here:
    http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/adsense-stop-words.htm

As far as those annoying PSAs are concerned, the best thing to do is prevent them from showing in the first place. One way is by replacing "stop words" with image replacement techinques or with wrapping the potential stop word text in flash content.

Another (and probably better...) way is by making your own ad which leads to the area/directory/page of your site with the highest-paying channels.

So, that way, you dont waste your valuable space for the PSA. You could make an image which looks like a contextual text ad, and links to the best paying page you have. Make the title, ad text, with no URL, for eg....

    Hope this helps.

One of my bigger sites is only showing red cross ads on the index page.

it normally pays $70 a day on the index but today nothing.

Although i am from the uk i am more than happy to put money to the red cross relief fund for the usa, they need all the money they can get.

You say you have needs also ? that amounts to greed.
    from yor blog:
"Don’t get me wrong I did get plastered, but it was not that much fun. On the plus side I managed to only spend 50 pounds. I am always amazed that I can spend so much going out. I mean, a pint of larger is only 2.50, (and I don’t drink that much!)."

pray for your needs and also red cross victims if that fails sell your computer for your needs.

sorry if this stings but your coments of having needs above the red cross is offensive.

I don't think so. I "borrowed" that whole section of text and put it in my blog for a few minutes. Google AdSense recgnizes the text and likes it and puts up ads for Adult Image Search

Please, don’t jump to conclusions. I am more than happy to have Red Cross ads, (or any PSA for that matter).
My comment here is not going to stop Google. If I didn’t like PSA I would not have Google.
Do be offended by one little statement in a NG that has nothing to do with charity in general.

Personally I think you are choosing to be offended by my comment, (after all you know nothing about my charity outside Google).

    Regards,
