Only PR3 for websites that have less than 1 year old?

Is it true that a new website (less than 1 year old) can have ONLY PR3 ,no matter how much links it have?
i don't think that is true,but that is what i heard .
what do you think?

well,let's say enough for PR6 .a link on a PR8 with few outgoing links would be enough for PR6 .
the question is,i can make ONLY PR3 for an website with less then 1 year old?

 

I guess there is a cap like that. It may be true because all the sites I have developed have only attained PR 3 maximum. I guess it's pretty easy for someone with a year or two experience with SEO to get PR 3. This questions relates to the sandbox effect. No one can be sure about it unless google or Matt Cutts comments about this. Anyone got PR 4 or above within 1 year?

Not true... It depends on who links you. It can go from 0-10

 

No not true I think, you can achieve higher PR as long as your backlinks are of quality.

 

I've seen some sites that were months old and have PR4. Above 4 I didn't see yet.

This is completely untrue, my current website is proof of that and will be for another 5 days as of typing this. I've been PR4 for about 4-7 months now, and my site is still under a year old. I don't believe there is a cap, and if there is, it's not 4. Even if you have a lot of backlinks, what are you linking to? What content does your site have that others don't? It's not about how many links you have, or even where they're from, it's also about what you link to.

 

Well, it probably depends on your linking and content but Google hates a ton of new content and links all at once so it may be hard to get higher then a PR3.

You can achieve >PR3 in less than a year. It is the quality of the inbound links and the relevance of the content.

 

You can get PR3+ in less than a year for sure. Just focus on unique content and quality back links. Don't be associated with any sites that Google doesn't link for example link farms and sites that steal content and us it as their own. Hence "Quality Sites".

 

Funny,This is not true, moreover PR will calculated by back links as well as value(content, visits, how old etc) of your site. Think once if i registered my domain 1 year back without data how would i get PR3? so there is no chance for such kind

Yah, easy to get PR 3. My blog get PR 3 only for 2 month.

 

It is possible to get PR4 and more in less than a year.

 

I did, in a mobile phone theme related website ( using wordpress ) .

just 10 link exchange with CLOSE related websites and a few backlink from a mobile phone forum. forum was PR4 it self

 

well,the conclusion would be that a new website can have more then PR3 in less then 1 year
