i made this 1 page and linked it from the homepage about 4 days ago still not indexed, does it take more for sites that are not blogs? i even got 10 pr2 links from 10 different sites pointing to it and my site should have enough PR also to get indexed faster
Page Rank and frequency of typical updates determine how often a page is crawled and thus how long it will take for your other site to get indexed by Google. Google uses other means to find sites, such as new Whois data, for example.
It depends on how well optimized the site is and how often you update. Before I started blogging a lot, I had several sites that were being indexed quickly. I made a point of updating something on the site at least a couple times a week and I made sure my title and meta tags were optimized for the search engines. When building back links to help indexing, you should worry less about PR and more about the traffic of the site you are linking to and how often it updates. A popular site will be crawled more often and this your site linked from it will get crawled faster. Try adding your site to your signature here at DP and maybe buying a signature link or two. That normally works well for fast indexing.
Basically the site doesnt update and its more of a information site that doesnt need updating... Google does cache the homepage about every 4 days, i do have a good amount of links pointing to the domain, 3xpr7 15xpr6 etc... Evantually google will add the page in a few days but just dont get how some get new pages indexed in a few hours unless its because there blogs.
From my experience blogs get indexed faster than websites. Try posting comment in blogs for faster indexing. You can also try digg.
Are you adding new pages? If so are you linking them to the homepage? If yes to both, you are updating. I suggest you add a small daily/weekly news on your homepage. This way, you can add little tidbits about your niche and it will cause Google to crawl faster. I had a savings website that was just informational and I added a news tidbit that took like 2 minutes a day and I started seeing the Google bot coming daily and all my new pages were indexed with in 24 hours most with in 2 hours.
In my experience, Google spiders my blogs faster than any of my other sites. They sometimes index my post after 5 hours from the time I published it! They seem to love blogs for some reason.
