What is the reason of this?? Please comment your reasons.. Is it the failure of android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich?
Just because it has been released doesn't mean it's available for all phones. I can't get it for an update on the Razr maxx.
Basically when google releases a new version it is just the base code and needs a kernel (think hardware drivers) for it to work on different model phones. It is the manufactures (Samsung, HTC, Motorola) that need to create new kernels for their phones and tweak the base code. They usually take a long time to do this. They also add their own custom skins and modifications to google's base code. Having so many different models is good for android but also bad in terms of supporting and updating so many different models. And the older your phone is the lower it is on the manufactures list of phones to update. But generally Ice Cream Sandwich is a huge improvement in looks and usability. Most users just don't have it due to the manufacturers not releasing it for many phones yet.
