Only 1 backlink? Surely some mistake!...

According to Google I only have one measly backlink to my Sketchbook site!

How can this be? I've exchanged links with several sites (through this forum, all those sites are in Google) and I regularly post to forums and comment on sites to get my url out there. Don't these kind of things count as backlinks? Have I misunderstood backlinks? (probably knowing me! :) )

Any advice would be greatly appreciated... :)

I've noticed that google backlinks and search results on the websites are two different things.

if you use : link:www.ronnietucker.co.uk in google search box you get one link to your site

    but
if you use ronnietucker.co.uk you get 64 results.

hopefully someone can clarify the difference.

Backlinks are updated only every 2-3 months. It depends on Google on when will they update their backlinks. Try using Yahoo and MSN to know what is your exact backlinks.
