Online Web Based Project Management Software

I have been using a phpbb forum to temporarily communicate with my team members and it seems to be working well. As we expand, I was hoping to look into something a little bit more sophisticated with calendars, personal tasks, notes, discussions, etc. It seems like weboffice.com or iteamwork.com have what I am looking for, but they are quite expensive. Just seeing if there are any more affordable alternatives, preferably software I can install and self manage. TIA, Ivan

I rephrased my search to "groupware" and there seems to be some pretty nice open source codes out there. Any recommendations on which one to use? -mm

This is one area of open source where there is a prolifiration of applications, all free (open source).

    Have a look here: http://sourceforge.net/search/?words=groupware&type_of_search=soft

I have played with eGroupware and Group-Office, both offer great functionality. I've just never really had a team of more than two to deal with. I would easily put one of these in place to make communication easier.

    Regards

    J

opensourcecms.com have a list of open source Groupwares and let you login to test both frontend and backend of the script.
