My company is about to lanuch an online store that will sell videos, tshirts, and hats. Rght now they are thinking about letting a contract build and maintain the store. Do you guys think this is a good idea? I am worried that this will hamstring us. I am would like to see our products sold using affialte progams. I am also thinking that we may want to start a store. Please advise. Thanks
Hi, I think it's a good idea to test, sure! A good way is with GoDaddy Quick Cart stores. We have one and it's only $10 per month and accepts Paypal, MC / VISA, etc. handles electronic downloads as well as offline goods. GoDaddy helps with phone service and email, too. Good way to start. eBay stores are cheap and quick to set up, too. I think they're $15 per month now, but depends upon size and services you need. Can't go wrong at those rates, even for a couple months. Diana Barnum
When you say build and maintain a store - are you talking brick and mortar because you go on to say that we may want to start a store (is this an e-commerce store that you want to start as well)?
OK - it seemed like you wanted two stores.... Why are you worried about this 'contract'or? Did you get references? Are they building the site from scratch or are you using a pre-built store?
Well depends what you mean by maintain... is he going to charge you loads just to add new products etc... ? Or will he just be used for re-designs and coding changes? I would just ask for a good cms and pay him when you need something changing.
Its so hard to promote online store in nowadays on the internet..cause just are millions of them..I mean billions..how abut affiliate stores like amazon and ect..
Yes, that applicable for other online business too, that is the reason one should focus on specific niche and should come up with some exciting offer, some effective marketing strategy etc.
make a proper planning , consider all options and look for the best possible, it will depend on the current situation for implementing and getting best possible results, mass marketing doesn't work always, these days people look for unique products as well.
